[Hawkface]

Fools In the Beginning...

Part 1

Beginnings are usually scary. Endings are usually sad. But in the middle, that's what counts the most.

Hawkface padded in, he was covering his face from the other cats as he brushed his fur against Icestar's fur, his sisters."Hey Icestar it's good to see you again." meowed the silver tom as he still didn't show the ether cats his face from getting back from a mission.
Icestar spun around towards the tabby tom, "Hawkface!" she mewed in surprise, "I can't believe you've came back! It's so great to see you again," She greeted her brother,"...Is something wrong brother?" She noticed he seemed to be hiding something...
Hawkface turned around reviling a nasty scar on his right eye which made the eye blind."It's this stupid eye,I got in battle." mewed Hawkface as he sat down."Oh Icestar, I was wondering if I could be deputy, it's ok if you say no." mewed the WindClan warrior.
Icestar froze for a moment at the site of the scar. She recovered quickly, "I'm still deciding on deputy," She mewed quietly," You are on my mind for the position. I just don't want people to think I favor my family more than my Clan," She mewed hoping he'd understand what she was trying to explain.
A pretty calico padded back into the den. "Icestar," she mewed in greeting "Tigershard." She mewed also in greeting. She dipped her head to both cats. She smiled at the strong handsome tabby tome "Hi there" she purred "I'm Jadeflight, and you are?" her voice was soft and warm. Waiting for an anwser, Jadeflight turned to her leader and medicine cat "Sorry to interrupt." She mewed politely "Freepaw and I have going to find horsetail. " The calico paused "Freepaw is at the entrance waiting for me, I told the apprentice we could go anytime. I hope that's okay and you can come along too." the delicate she-cat glanced at Hawkface.
Hawkface nodded."Names Hawkface and sure I'll come along and Icestar I understand, but just remember you mean the world to me, your the only family I have left." With that Hawkface padded away to wait with Freepaw, he was starting to like this new cat Jadeflight.

Deep Down Inside There's A Real Reason For Everything

Part 2

Jadeflight sat in one of the few trees that grew near the edge of the plains. She waited silently for her friend Hawkface.
Hawkface padded to Jadeflight."Well we have till sundown to get fresh-kill." mewed Hawkface as he checked the air for scents of fresh-kill not thinking of anything else.
Jadeflight nodded. The calico leaped higher into the tree. Like Tansypaw, her sister, Jadeflight was an amazing jumper, making her quick at catching birds. The pretty she-cat spotted a large raven. She waited, creeping slowly along the branch where she stood, she positioned herself for the leap. Without a sound, Jadeflight leaped gracefully into the top tree branch, snagging her claws in the ebony bird. It struggled, trying to fly away momentarily before giving up. Jadeflight took the opportunity to drag it back to the tree. She touched down, pinning the creature to the branch before killing it swiftly.
The calico cat jumped to the ground, her kill clasped between her jaws.
Hawkface smirked."Good catch, but really why did you bring me all the way out here?" asked Hawkface, he knew something was up the minute she invited him out here after they looked for horsetail for Tigershard. But what could it be?
Jadeflight smiled mysteriously. "You came voluntarily" She mewed simply "Why did you come here with me when I asked you? Your a busy cat who was on patrol but yet you decided to come with me. There must be a reason deep down for why you came because most cats would have said no. And it is for that reason I asked you here" The she-cat licked her paw and waited for his response.
Hawkface rubbed his blind eye."I came because you asked me too and being a gentle cat I did as I was asked and I have nothing else to do today so yeah I came here." answered Hawkface, his eyes locked on hers.
Jadeflight nodded "Very well then." she mewed "I asked you to come because I wanted to get to know you better. If we're to fight side by side protecting our Clan, shouldn't I know who I'm fighting for?" She mewed
Hawkface sighed."Well only you can choose who your fighting for or why your fighting, I'm already in a battle with myself, I have a dark past as it my seem, I don't have much friends, other cats follow me because they trust me, but I still don't think there my friends, there's only one cat that I care more than my Clan is my sister, Icestar." meowed Hawkface as he stared Jadeflight right still in the eyes."If you ask me about if I ever wanted mate or a kits,well I've never been really interested in joining with other cats lives as for kits I don't think I would be able to protect them from danger, it's like my father said: Love can bloom on a battlefield and I believe anyone, anywhere, anytime, and anyplace one another can fall in love with each ether, but if you love someone you have to be able to protect them." explained Hawkface."I know I'm reckless sad cat who is so very alone in this cold heartless world as it is." mewed Hawkface.
Jadeflight smiled "So," she mewed "If love can bloom anywhere and you don't believe in yourself to able to protect any cat you love." she paused "I think you should be open yo love. Sometimes it's love that saves us not the other way around." she mewed mysteriously. "Out of interest, did you think that's why I asked you here?" she mewed, hoping he's be honest.
Hawkface looked at his paws."Jadeflight I'm not the flirting type for cat you know, yeah maybe StarClan has plans for you and me, but maybe not, oh well maybe I'm just crazy then." meowed Hawkface as he stared at Jadeflight again."Jadeflight a long time ago when I was a kit and I still had my eye, one elder said to me: It doesn't matter how smart you are or how brave you are,the only thing that matters in that you are true to your heart, to know more things in life, but most of all the one thing stronger than loyalty is the gift to love one another." meowed Hawkface.
Jadeflight nodded wondering if she should be vexed by the fact that Hawkface thought all she was aiming for was a flirt. She decided to ignore it. "And that elder was certainly right." she mewed "I've learned that the hard way" she murmured, almost to herself.
Hawkface rubbed his blind eye."No one has ever loved me because of my blind eye and my past, but I learned the hard way to of being blinded by the right eye, anyways I trust the whole Clan and you are one of few cats that I trust a lot." mewed Hawkface coolly.
Jadeflight smiled slightly before looking into his good eye. "I think your right eye makes you look much more... macho" she mewed, trying to lighten the atmosphere around them. "I trust you with my life Hawkface, very few cats have earned that since my accident." she murmured to herself but it didn't go unheard by Hawkface.
Hawkface giggled."Macho... Ha don't make me laugh this scar is to remind me for what I'm fighting for... My Clan and my clanmates, but the most of all the hardest thing for me to battle is the fight within myself." mewed Hawkface."So what about this accident, it's ok if you don't want to tell ,but that's why I'm here, to help you with your problems." meowed Hawkface as he stared deep into Jadeflight's eyes.
Jadeflight laughed lightly along with the tom gratefully. Her delicate features fell slightly of the 'accident' that had occurred. She shuddered. "I wasn't always this way" she mewed softly "I am, somewhat of a monster, per say" she mewed, choosing her words carefully. "I am a vampire of sorts," she paused "I am suppose to enjoy drinking the blood of cats. I have been alive for decades and will continue to be so. I am immortal. " she took a deep breath "I have trained myself to the point where I am immune to the temptation of blood of cats. But if you step out of line I could change that." She teased lightly, hoping he'd understand that the last statement was completely false. She'd never hurt another because of her 'gift/curse'. "My senses are much sharper than yours in many different ways. My sense of smell is more acute , as is my sight, strength, hearing and so on." she held his gaze "I was bitten by a twoleg many many moons back. I had been in the way, at that time I had been a tabby barn cat. Boring and plain. I had to withstand 3 days of constant pain, worse then greencough for, the pain will not let you fade from consciousness. I am, in fact, when I choose to be, venomous." she smiled a crooked smile. "With me so far?" she mewed, hoping he'd believe her. She sounded unrealistic but it was all so very true.
Hawkface circled Jadeflight."Vampire eh, well I've heard it's like an infection of some sort, I'm like you cold and alone ,but you see I was blinded from not rouges but from my mission against impossible odds, I was tortured, my legs broken in the process before they dumped me in the river, when I washed up on shore I asked loners for help but they didn't help they just laughed at me, I felt so much fear as I limped for a while before I blacked out, in my visions in my dreams I saw calico she-cat proud and brave looking at me and smiling, she called himself.... Ripplestream and she said that she saw my first daughter and she kept saying: Never regret your past because it's always dark except for when you look into the future." mewed Hawkface as he frowned."Then she nodded and vanished into thin air ,but before he went he said: Father we will meet someday again in battle." mewed Hawkface as he stopped circling Jadeflight."I will always be your friend and maybe even closer ,I don't care if your a vampire I understand how hard it is with a problem like that, I'm afraid to loose my loved ones and my sister Icestar." mewed Hawkface."Anyways how I survived from my broken legs and me blind eye stayed how it was and legs healed. She was...was....beautiful but I will never see her again, though she didn't tell me much. I was padding into meadow where a massive silver tom lay dying with her looking over him as the tom rasped: You are a true warrior with a golden heart and you must remember these last words of mine, 'loyal to the end' to your porpoise in life....." explained Hawface as he rubbed the sweat off from remembering that nightmare of that day."Still to this day I am still very confused about it..." mewed Hawkface as he looked at his paws.
Jadeflight looked at him intrigued. She sat patiently, stone still. "I'm sorry to hear that" she mewed, her voice silvery, almost as though it could only belong to a god. Her perfect features looked at him sympathetically for a moment. "Hawkface," she said musically "Are you immortal?" She expected her question to catch him off guard, but then again, she didn't really expect things from him, he was unpredictable.
Hawkface looked up at Jadeflight."No I'm not in mortal and I don't even think I'm not quiet the cat I was anymore, I'm in a battle with my self." mewed Hawkface sat still."Why do you think Ripplestream came to my dreams." asked Hawkface stupidly.
Jadeflight's eyes flash with temptation but it soon faded. "I know how to cure you... well sort of" she mewed timidly. "I think she came because she wants you to find out who you want to be." she said quietly, her voice was like crystal.
Hawkface nodded."Yeah maybe she wants too." mewed Hawkface as he jumped back."Cure what do you mean a cure...?" asked the WindClan deputy.
Jadeflight thought for a moment in a still, brooding way before murmuring just loudly enough for him to hear her "It will not be a cure, exactly" she paused "But if , and only if, you know deep down that it is what you want, I can transform you into a vampire yourself. It will change your looks, your eye will no longer be sightless, you fangs will never dull , you claws never split but you will be immortal. While all those around you live a normal life and die you will be able to do nothing. You will grow stronger and smarter, not to mention swifter and excel in all places but one. You will never die unless there is one who knows how to kill you. " she stopped, her eyes had changed from their normal green to a deep caramel color. "But, it must be what you want. You will become a cat, but a vampire. I will need to pass on my patience of non-tempting thoughts. For at first you might find it harder in battle to resist the blood. But if you do as I say you could get over that easily." she waited to see his decision. She was like a statue, silent and unmoving.
Hawkface looked down."Can resist the crave of blood, how come you haven't bitten me yet then and I want to see StarClan, though I know I will never go there."Hawkface looked at Jadeflight."I know I don't want to because I want to be with my sister Icestar as long as I can, but... but.. -but I have i think I'm slowly going crazy, Jadeflight is there a way to resist the crave of blood, I think by now you could have attacked me, they say vampires attack cats when they don't get blood, well isn't that the why you brought me here!" growled Hawkface as jumped and pinned down Jadeflight."How do I know you want try to bite our clanmates!" spat Hawkface as he bit down on Jadeflight's shoulder hard, while leaving his neck unguarded from Jadeflight's fangs, but before he knew it he made a mistake he had two choices, roll her over and try to kill her but she couldn't die ,he would fight till he was out of strength and she would be able to kill him, then he knew he left his neck open to Jadeflight and she would bite him and make him a vampire too and end this nightmare.
Jadeflight lay there, pinned to the ground. She didn't move. It wasn't out of shock or pain. It was out of calm. "Hawkface, you can't kill me. I could easily kill you but I wouldn't. I haven't killed another cat... ever." She vanished from under his paws and appeared at his side by rolling over. "You say you are slowly going crazy? I could bite you know, my venom would take you to StarClan for three days but you'd still feel pain there." she murmured "I knew you where sick, I knew I might be able to help you but I won't if you don't want me to." sh breathed. "I give you two choices. 1. I turn you into a vampire, like me, transforming your body. You'd never be able to be sick, blind, deaf or have mental cases." she paused "Or" she took a deep breath "2. You live as you are and never heal, dying in the near future. Unable to see Icestar's triumph's and faults." she blinked at him , not breathing. She didn't need to breath. she just did to seem, more, normal as it where.
Hawkface looked at the sky."Jadeflight you say this sure will give my power, but I don't want to have power nor die in cold blood, Jadeflight can I ever reverse this cruse, because I want to know more about Ripplestream my daughter." meowed Hawkface as he thought for about three hearts beats."Jadeflight, I'll do it I turn into a vampire..." mewed Hawkface."For Icestar, but not just for her but for my daughter Ripplestream I and..... and.. and you Jadeflight, you say you need blood I will... will let you drink from me, Jadeflight." whispered Hawkface as he stood still watching Jadeflight, all he wanted to do ever in his life was to help other cats not matter what."But on one deal you will never and I mean never bite a cat from our Clan Jadeflight." muttered Hawkface.
Jadeflight tried not to looked vexed "Hawkface," she mewed, her tone almost frigid "I told you, for years I have never bitten another cat with venom. I am the only of my kind"
Hawkface coughed."Ican see it in your eyes, I just want to be with my sister Icestar.... Icestar I have to see her I have to go and your secret is safe with me I promise." mewed Hawkface as he rubbed his pelt against hers."I am a cat of my word I never break a promise ever...... before I go to Icestar I thought about it quickly and no I don't want to live for ever." meowed Hawkface as he licked her face."You can trust me with your secret." mewed Hawkface as he stared her in the eyes."As for me I trust you with my life Jadeflight" muttered Hawkface he felt happy to be around her ,he felt like he could relate to her with her, but above that there was something else something he had felt about the the she-cat in his dreams, but this time it went deeper as he stared into her bright eyes."I guess love is hard to find for you, because you would live for ever as you watched your mate get old and die and you would be heart broken." whispered Hawkface as he rubbed his chin against her face."You are one of the few cats I trust and I care for you well, we'll meet again sometime later...." meowed the silver tom.
Jadeflight ran after him, a tear rolled down her face. "I trust you too." she purred "And I love you. I don't care if I could live forever, as long as I'm with you." she breathed and paused "You do know if you where sick on your death bed I'd save you right?" she mewed "I might not have a choice," she tried to make it into a joke.
Hawkface turned around."Love is like circle Jadeflight, it keeps going around, I love you too, but...but I need to talk to Icestar about something, Jadeflight." mewed Hawkface calmly."Remember I will always be for you Jadeflight." whispered Hawkface."But Jadeflight you must remember that I'm locked inside myself,while you hold the key." meowed Hawkface as padded through the bushes."I'll see you later." grunted Hawkface but before he went he glanced back at her."I will always be there for you always forever and ever." With that the WindClan deputy vanished into the bushes without a trace.
Jadeflight let him go. She could only watch in silence, her tears staining her chest as she slowly tailed him back to camp."Forever and ever...." She never though she would feel this way about someone before now,.

Future Imperfects

Part 3

Hawkface ate his vole quietly,he looked up at the trees overhead and the frost of Leafbare was beginning to thaw to the warm season of Newleaf.
A tattered figure limped into camp. She was bleeding badly but she was still breathtakingly beautiful. She walked with her head held high. She had decided she could not kill herself until after the battle. She would heal quickly. Her wounds would have killed a normal cat. But she was not at all normal. Jadeflight had returned
Icestar had just appered from her den when she saw the figure walk in, "What in the name of StarClan is..." Her voice trailed off as she realized who the cats was. She turned around, "Where is Tigershard?" She yowled through the clearing seeing how badly Jadeflight was hurt
Hawkface looked at Jadeflight, not caring and he padded to Jadeflight."I guess death wasn't ready for you....vampire." muttered the deputy as he padded away.
Jadeflight's eyes gave away nothing as she padded up to Icestar "I'm sorry I was away for so long" she apologized "I'm fine, really. Just give is a few days and it'll pass." she vowed before stalking after Hawkface. She wouldn't let him get away with his comments.
Hawkface saw Jadeflight in the corner of his eyes and whispered out of earshot of any cat but Jadeflight."I care for no one anymore, not even my self, StarClan has turned it's back on me and I am already fighting a battle with myself!" whispered Hawkface, his fur was all mattered and looked as if he hadn't cleaned it in days....
Jadeflight scowled "Did you think I came back for you? I've already screwed things up for you" she mewed icily "I came back because there's a battle coming, Hawkface. Throan'cas Clan is going to try and destroy ALL of WindClan." she whispered. "I can't leave WindClan to die without being there to defend them!"
Hawkface smiled."Good,but don't be stupid we can't do it alone, Th'roancas Clan is stronger than you think,I have fought them before." whispered Hawkface,he shook his head."Sorry I just can't think straight ,because.... because..... never mind" muttered Hawkface as he padded away, his eyes dull and he had some fleas on his pelt from no grooming.
Jadeflight sprinted after Hawkface "Because what?" she whispered gently. "You know you can tell me anything.. if you want to that is" she added
Hawkface looked around making sure no cat was in earshot,except for Jadeflight."Because I don't want to loose you again,that's one of my worst nightmares..." mewed Hawkface, his words trailed off into the distance.
Jadeflight smiled slightly "Just saying those words to me will make me stay around for you forever." she breathed "So are you sure that's what you want?" she mused, her nose brushing his ear gently though she paused "I know you might not want to hear me say these words but, Hawkface , I love you more than anything, and I was hoping you felt the same way." she whispered in his ear "I was hoping maybe you thought I was a worthy mate for you because there's no doubt in my mind that you'd be perfect for me" she murdered "But if you've feel for someone else I understand..."
Hawkface nuzzled Jadeflight."I'd like you anyway, cause your special in every way, I don't care if your a vampire or whatever, I'd still love you." meowed Hawkface in a warm voice.
cestar stood on the other edge of the clearing. She heard every word, because of her hearing being so good. Jadeflight's a vampire...is that so. Jadeflight looked as loyal as any cat, and if Hawkface trusted her, I will too. She purred and chuckled, she was glad for her brother, he had found a mate. Her blue eyes showed enviousness because she could never have kits, at least until the danger had passed. Even so, the thought of kits and a mate was out of the question for she could not be distracted at this point in time. She let out a sigh and sat down, curling her tail around her paws.
Jadeflight smiled, she knew Icestar had heard but she didn't care. The she-cat nuzzled Hawkface back "Will you be my mate " she purred "I want to make official" she breathed
Hawkface nodded."Of course, but you live forever as for me I don't Jadeflight." meowed Hawkface as he started at the night sky.
Jadeflight licked the end of his nose "Thank you" she purred, nuzzling closer to him "I know," she murmured "But I think I know a way of meeting with you in StarClan" she murdered "And that's what I intend to do."

Jadeflight padded gracefully into the open and let the warmth of the exceptional beautiful day Leafbare had allowed them, soak into her pelt. She and Icestar would be doing some exploring of their territory and try and find out what the Monster Clan was up to. The calico was not afraid that she'd be spotted because she was a very good manipulator if she had to be and could easily confuse one of the enemy she was there from another set of clans, wanting to pay homage to the lord and lady. This would be easy for her because even though she was of WindClan, the scent was very hard to pickup on her because she had a sweet, flowery scent all her own after leaving camp
Icestar sighed stepping out onto the moors once more. This was where her clan belonged, she had to bring them back soon. Or else, who knows what would happen. The white she-cat let the warmth soak into her matted fur. Her blue eyes were still slightly dull from the fight, and the wounds still showed. Some would scar as a memory of her fear and defeat. She grimaced and padded to Jadeflight, "Looks like they haven't wandered far onto our land," She murmured, the air still free from the mountain cat's scent. Her crystal blue eyes drifted to Jadeflight and then back to the moors.
Jadeflight smiled slightly "We'll be home soon" she vowed, touching her friend's flank with her nose in reassurance. After waiting a little bit she mewed "Let's go while the sun's nice and warm, maybe we'll be lucky and the breeze will work with us
Icestar smiled, with a nod of thanks. She padded on beside Jadeflight.
Jadeflight limped slightly from her encounter with the steel contraption but she healed rapidly from all wounds so this one was nearly done healing it was just a little tender. She could walk and run fine though it just ached slightly after the fact.
Icestar glanced at the injured foot. It had healed so quickly, I guess this was another one of the traits of a vampire. The white she-cat sighed padding along.
Jadeflight gazed into the distance. She spotted the familiar set of brush that hid a small dip in the ground. She made for that. Before she slipped into the bushes she mewed "Icestar, do you mind if I have a word with you?" he voice was worried and her eyes were almost scared but also held slight disapproval. "There's something you should know" she murmured.
Icestar blinked confused. The white she-cat nodded slightly, "Of course, what is it?" She meowed, sitting down a tail length away from her friend.
Jadeflight sat down gingerly "I'm so confused with this big battle coming and I really don't know what to do" she sighed. "I-I'm planning something and if Hawkface found out I think it wou-would destroy him. It kills me in-inside but I-I don't think there's any other way" she wailed, her whole body shook violently.
Fear struck Icestar, she knew she should be afraid if Jadeflight was, "What is this plan?" She nearly hissed. Her voice was cold, with worry and concern. The white she-cat needed to know what the plan was before she could say anything more.
Jadeflight erupted into silent sobs that convulsed her body. She calmed herself slightly so that she could speak."I'm expecting," she murmured "But the battle and I want to help and I feel like such a monster for even thinking this but... Oh Icestar I'm terrible and cruel" she hissed, hating herself "I was going to take an herb that would make me sick to the point that it would kill the kits" she murmured , having no tears left in her. "I-I would have gotten better swiftly and then it would all be a distant memory but I feel so guilty about whether I should go through with it" she snarled, kneading the ground before erupting into more silent sobs of self hatred.
"Kits!" She squeaked, sighing afterwards, "I don't want to do anything drastically. If you kill the kits it would be a loss to the clan. Maybe if you have the kits before the next battle we can find away for someone else to care for them during another battle," She thought of options quickly, "But, I want you to at least talk to Hawkface. He gets so miserable when a kit dies," Her eyes were dull with memories remembering how he had reacted when a kit had been killed during battle. Then how soon after he had been sent into exile. This would probably an opposite effect for him if his kits were killed. She shook her head not knowing what to say, "Please, if you can leave that for the last option. This is your choice, but the clans faced enough death already," She murmured her blue eyes narrowed.
Jadeflight remained silent for a long time before speaking "I will speak with him but I already know his answer" she sighed "I just don't know" she breathed "What if I'm killed, What if Hawkface dies?What if all of WindClan falls?" she murmured "Then the kits would be in the care of the enemy" she spat with distaste. Before shaking her head "I want to have these kits more than anything" she sighed "I just feel like running now and never stopping but that won't help anything. Sometimes if only the easy thing to do was the right one" she shuddered at the thought of her future, her and Hawkface's kits. Was there anything there? The calico got to her paws wearily after what felt like forever. "I will go tell Hawkface that he's a father" she mewed, almost happily but there was still a trace of fear and doubt. Would she be a good mother, leaving her kits with another during the most important battle of the Clans history? "The kits will be fine, it'll hurt more to know they died young and for no reason, than for them to be born into pride and love, " She murmured once more, her blue eyes filled with emotion, "Just be glad you have the choice of having kits and being in-love," She added. The white she-cat sighed, "I hope you understand why I want these kits to live, they will be my kin, "She smiled at the thought of being an aunt.
Jadeflight nodded and smiled sadly "There's someone out there for you Icestar" she mewed "You will be happy with love" she added "I must go to Hawkface now" she mewed, almost excitedly "And Icestar, I'd appreciate that this conversation where forgotten or at least not shared. In future it will bring me great pain" she sighed, sprinting off, hopping ever couple paces.
Icestar nodded and waited 'till Jadeflight had left. She prayed that she would make the right decision. Though, how could she stop her. She closed her blue eyes so she could think more clearly.


Hawkface closed his eyes."I know you love Icestar." muttered the deputy with a smirk.
Ashfoots eyes narrowed on Hawkfaces pelt. Ashfoot felt hot with Hawkfaces burning gaze upon him, he felt nervous knowing Icestar was Hawkface's sister. "I know I cannot hide it" he whispered shyly, he lowered his head looking at his paws. He knew that his heart longed for Icestar but he knew that no matter what she did or loved his heart would always be their for her. He understood that there were other cats for more skilled than he was but he just wanted someone to know that he mattered a little bit in their lives. He turned his attention to Hawkface he narrowed his eyes before leaving the den.
Jadeflight got to her feet "Hawkface..." she mewed "I won't be staying in the warriors den now ill be in the nursery but I guess that doesn't really matter cause your in the medicine cat's den" she mewed, padding past him.
Hawkface stopped and muzzled her."Oh I'll be in the nursery with you everyday, hey some cats might even think I might think I"m expecting kits." joked Hawkface as he licked her ears."But I will be by your side." promised Hawkface as he continued padding on.
Jadeflight's pain clouded eyes lost some of their haze when she heard Hawkface's voice "Ok..." she heaved "But something's not right" she whispered. Hawkface saw Jadeflight from across his eyesight."Jadeflight are you ok?" questioned Hawkface.
Jadeflight drifted in and out of consciousness. She couldn't tell if it was from exhaustion or if something was going Extremely wrong. She was too tired to be scared now.
Hawkface stood over Jadeflight, muzzling her."Should I get Icestar, she's more experienced with these kind of things." reassured Hawkface, before she could answer he raced outside of the camp calling his sisters name before racing back quickly.
Jadeflight's mouth twitched in a smile "Th-thank you" she purred, the sound vibrating her whole body. Her eye's closed sleepily and her body stopped moving. Her sides heaves slowly, gently falling up and down. The spasms had stopped for now. The kits would be born soon but she'd need herbs to help her. The kitting would be more difficult than usual. Jadeflight was thankful that her mate was there with her.
Hawkface sat by Jadeflight."Don't worry, I'm here for you..." murmured Hawkface as he continued to give her licks to calm her down. Jadeflight slept for a few hours, awoken by sudden insticit "Hawkface," she mewed "The kits are coming," The first kit was born and after what felt like moons, four kits lay nestled to their mother's belly. Jadeflight smiled, it had been difficult but worth it. "They're beautiful Hawkface" the she-cat purred with delight, licking her mate's cheek. Hawkface smiled the biggest smile."Yes they are beautiful, just like their mother." meowed Hawkface.
Icestar padded in quickly and glanced from Jadeflight to Hawkface and then to the four kits, "They're beautiful," She purred remembering Hiddenhoney was out looking for herbs. She padded over to Hiddenhoney's herb stock.
She carefully pulled out the Borage Leaves and Poppy Seeds. Her blue eyes were filled with warmth and she glanced to Hawkface, "It's a good thing Fernpaw was once a Medicene Cat Apprentice," She chuckled speaking of her brother who was murdered by Snake.
The white she-cat padded over to Jadeflight, nosing the herbs towards her, "Eat those," She purred to Jadeflight, examining the kits. Hawkface curled his tail around Icestar's shoulder."I've been thinking, which one would you like to mentor when they are apprentices, cause you know everyone will want one." questioned Hawkface as he sat by Jadeflight."You did well." murmured Hawkface between licks to her ears, but something about the calico kit with the name Ripplekit kept making him think of something, something he couldn't quiet figure out.
Icestar swept her gaze across the kits, "I think I've chosen myself," She murmured, "We'll see when the time comes. Anyways, I'm the one deciding these things," She sighed.
Jadeflight smiled, licking each kits carefully "They are something else aren't they?" she purred happily. When she had licked each of the kits she turned and licked Hawkface's cheek happily. She then ate the Borges Icestar had gotten for her. "Thank you Icestar" she purred "For everything," she added, knowing that the other she-cat knew that this had many meanings that only they two would ever understand.
A loud purr raised from Hawkface."I think that each one of these kits have a special ability of their own." purred the massive silver tom.
